   - Tax credit is for 1st time home buyers or those who have not owned a home in the past 3 years,

   - Tax credit does not have to be repaid,

   - Tax credit is equal to 10% of homes value up to a maximum of $ 8,000,

   - Tax credit is available for homes closing before December 1, 2009,

   - Single taxpayers with incomes up to $ 75,000 and married couples with incomes up to $ 150,000 qualify,

   - As of July 1, 2009, the tax credit can be available at closing and may be used for some closing costs.
